"You may have the universe if I may have Italy." --Giuseppe Verdi

This was the stop on our vacation I was the most excited about. The Amalfi Coast of Italy is arguably some of the most beautiful natural landscapes you will ever see. From the villages high on mountain cliffs to the stunning turquoise blue water, it is something I will never forget. We had a PERFECT day in Sorrento, Salerno, and Amalfi. The weather was warm and the sun was shining, my skin was definately sun kissed at the end of the day. We started our journey in the port of Naples were we met our sweet guide Marzia (pronouned Marta) who took us into the Italian hills (of the Dolomite Mountains) to the coastal cities of Sorrento, Salerno (to catch our ocean cruise), and then on to Amalfi. The views along the way were remarkable. We were able to see Mtn Vesuvius is the distance, as well as the Isle of Capri. There are quite a bit of landscape photos here (sorry I couldn't contain myself!) ENJOY!
Views of Naples from our balcony as the sun is rising

Mount Vesuvius

All along these crazy windy roads were these beaches among the cliffs.. this one was Bikini Beach

Olive trees..notice the netting underneath.. they allow the olives to fall off naturally..those that dont fall are gentle brushed off the trees. Many of these nets even cover roads.. cars drive under them!

On our way to Sorrento.. you can see it in the distance

Notice the mist rising with the sun

Walking around Sorrento

Restaurant where we had an amazing, traditional italian meal

Lemons are a major fruit production on the Amalfi coast.. they were everywhere!

Porsecco

Housemade wine

Homemade canneloni stuffed with riccotta and spinach

Chicken with provelone and pan sauce with tomato roasted potatoes

MY FAVORITE! Limoncello soaked cake with pastry cream in the center, then with a lemon zest whipped cream icing.. TO DIE FOR!

Grapes growing at the restaurant to make their wine

LIMES!

Come back for Part II!
