Croatia Part II..Dubrovnik

So we hit a little bit of bad weather when the dock ported in Dubrovnik. We still had a great day but wasn't able to get some of the amazing views that I had hoped for. The rain was light, warm, and intermittent. By the time our tour was over and we were back on the boat the sun decided to come out.. figures. We still had a great day. We toured the Croatian countryside (visited a marina town called Cavtat).. had a great lunch at the oldest standing restaurant in the country. The war in 1991 obliterated all but 70 homes.. so many of the structures are new. This restaurant survived luckily. We enjoyed local bread, meats, cheeses, and wine. Dubrovnik has the countryside as well as the new city and the historical fortress. Matt and I would have liked to walk the fortress walls, but due to the fact the whole city is made of limestone it was too slippery to go up there. I hope you can still see the beauty despite the rain!

View of the Dubrovnik fortress.. can you see it under the mist?
