A little bit of home in Deutchland!

We finally had our first visitors to stay at the house, Adrian and Maria! They were here for a week and we had a blast! Unfortunately, they experienced the unpredictable Eifel weather, but we made the best of it! The trip started off interesting, with the fact that they got in an hour and a half early!! At least they were able to enjoy a coffee and a croissant at the airport while they waited!
After they went back to the house, dropped off their stuff, and cleaned up, we took them down to Cochem. To our surprise Cochem was having a festival! It was the festival for the Red Peaches that grow on the mountains with the grapes! We all enjoyed sampling the liquors, gluwine, and peaches!

Enjoying her first German bratwurt!

Mid bite...sorry Maria!

Part of the festival!

Grabbing a coffee before we head home!
After dinner at the Maas hotel, Adrian and Maria promptly crashed! They did really well staying up as late as they could! The next day I took them to Globus ( kinda like a German Super Walmart) so they could get some chocolates and shop, then it was off to Burg Eltz ( a beautiful Castle!) We were basically the only ones there and ended up having basically a private tour...they were only 5 of us! We walked the hill down, but Adrian and I took the van back up! Maria being the trooper that she is hiked it, in heels boots nonetheless!

We found another castle on the way back to the house... Burg Pyrmont!

We decided to have dinner at home this night since it was going to be an early morning. The next day.. it was on the way to Paris via the Luxembourg highspeed TGV train!!
Good Morning Paris!! This is Maria's cappaucino!

After breakfast we waited in line for 2 and a half hours in the FREEZING cold rain to get to the top of the Eiffel Tower... so happy we did... this was the view!

The sister to the Statue of Liberty is in Paris on a bridge...can you find her in this picture?

After the Eiffel Tower we headed back to St Germain. Along the way we grabbed some hot chocolate and crepes to warm us up! Then it was out for shopping and dinner!
