Deutchland in Springtime!

The last couple weeks of March were full of sunshine! This is something quite extraordinary in the eiffel region of Germany, which is none for its rainy days and fog! Matt and I took advantage of the great weather to head out to Trier and then to Cochem for the Easter Market! Sorry that these pictures are so late, but still beautiful none the same!

My Aunt Mary was able to come visit me recently as she was in Europe on business. We enjoyed our time together having coffee in Cochem and out to dinner at Bosporos, our local Turkish Italian Restaurant!

Aunt Mary was the first of my family to come visit in Germany! It was nice to see her!!
Matt and I decided to take a trip to Trier his first weekend back from SOS.. we had originally planned a weekend in Belgium, but with the weather so yucky it wasn't worth the drive! It was nice to explore Trier some more though, last time we were there it was pouring!!
Beautiful church in Trier

They were having a robot rewrite the bible..in German.. in honor of the Easter holiday

We stumbled upon a farmers market.. yum!

Downtown Trier!

Matt always looks grumpy in pictures... I swear he isnt grumpy all the time..just doesnt want hims picture taken!

The Porta Nigra..an old Roman gate to the city..ordered to be reconstructed by Napoleon

Amazing views of Trier from inside!

You can see the remnants of the original paint inside

Vineyards off in the distance!

Some yummy olives brought up from Greece.. we devoured these!

Next on our list in March was the Cochem Easter festival...while the festival itself was disappointing..it was a beautiful day! We had lunch, ice cream, and enjoyed the sunshine!
