Nurnburg Part Deux

Here are the rest of our pictures from the Nurnburg Christmas Market. Sadly, due to illness we had to cancel our next vacation to the Brugge Ice Scuplture Festival to ensure our lil man was 100%. We will hopefully hit Rothenburg before we PCS this summer. We are trying to sneak in Berlin and Poland as trips as well. Poland may be a sans child trip. so that will be exciting! Anywhooo.. enjoy the photos! :)

Jackson ready to go for Nurnburg day 2

Beautiful fountain that depicts different kinds of marriage.. this is marriage at old age where they are basically trying to kill one another

Young love

Subservant wife

Cathedral St Lorenz

Christmas pyramid.. def on our list of things to buy.. but so pricey! The one we fell in love with was 549 euro.. about $800 dollars

We tried to taste all the traditional foods of the market.. this is a schneeball.. translation snowball.. basically fried dough that was light but crunchy.. covered in powdered sugar and cinnamon

We went  back to see the animals again.. daddy fed them while jackson watched

After a great day

Another traditional food. basically a HUGE marshmallow.. with a wafer bottom dipped in coffee liquor

Jackson took this photo

Tasting the marshmallow.. mmm

Gingerbread heart.. traditional at German festivals.. says Always in my Heart

Beautiful photo of our boy.. who was partially recouped from being sick.. realaxing on Christmas Eve :)

Frohlichte Weinachten!

We decided to travel to Bavaria for the famed Nurnburg Christmas Markets, the city is also known for the famous Nurnburg Nazi Trials. We decided to stay within the old city walls at the Holiday Inn Nurnburg City Centre and it was a perfect location. We had a great time on our trip, and had planned on heading to Rothenburg Ob Der Trauer, unfortunately nature got in the way. Jackson and I contracted a gastrointestinal virus that wound us in the hospital for the night. We are still recovering, so we have had a low key time since then. Anyway.. enjoy the photos of such a beautiful place!

Our comfortable room :) They even provided a crib

Jackson says.. " I want to go see Christmas lights!"

Headed out!

Family selfie in the elevator

Nativity scene with real animals :)

MMm gluhwein.. Matt and I shared an original on the first day then a Heidelbeer ( aka blueberry gluhwein) the second day

Our continual life of the party

Daddy got a 1/2 meter nurnburger sausage for dinner.. we ended up sharing it
